Casio designed the ProTrek PRJ-01 series for people who love spontaneous outdoor adventures and casual nature hikes. This collection introduces the first fully analog timepieces within the famous ProTrek family and consists of PRJ-01-1, PRJ-01AE-7, and PRJ-01AE-8.

Engineers drew inspiration from the clean layout of classic field equipment to create these highly readable outdoor tools. The core concept focuses on simple operation, absolute reliability, and wearable comfort during physical activities.

Specification

Every model in this line shares an ultra-compact case size built specifically for ultimate comfort. The case measures exactly 39.1mm in diameter to fit smaller wrists perfectly. It features a very slim thickness of 11.6mm to minimize any sleeve catch.

Tough mineral glass protects the face from accidental scratches during trail hikes. The octagonal case silhouette provides a solid, modern, and distinctively athletic look on the wrist.

Casio utilizes environmentally responsible bio-based resin for the primary case and bezel components. This material choice actively reduces environmental impact while maintaining exceptional physical durability.

A clever rotary guard bezel provides immediate control over the central crown mechanism. In its standard position, the rotating bezel conceals the crown to prevent accidental adjustments.

You can turn the bezel 45 degrees to reveal the crown at the lower right area. This innovative system allows quick time adjustments and creates a playful, interactive experience for the user.

Clear visual indicators on the case show the lock and unlock status at a glance. The watch also offers robust 100-meter water resistance for worry-free aquatic activities.

Dial

The Casio ProTrek PRJ-01 uses a white dial. A small date display window adds extra daily functionality at 4:30 o’clock.

The clean dial exhibits a light-transmissive solar texture that allows light to pass through smoothly. This texture feeds the underlying Tough Solar movement with sufficient energy from fluorescent or natural light sources.

The solar-powered quartz movement delivers highly accurate timekeeping performance with an accuracy of ±20 seconds per month. A full charge keeps the hands moving perfectly for approximately five months in total darkness.

A built-in low battery alert system warns users when the power levels drop significantly. During daylight hours, the dial displays a clean white background with high contrast markings.

In low-light environments, the white phosphorescent dial glows brightly across its entire surface for perfect nighttime visibility. The luminous material absorbs ambient light quickly to maximize readability during dark night treks.

The specific PRJ-01-1 variant represents the foundational baseline model of this new analog outdoor series. Casio coats this particular watch in a stealthy, all-black aesthetic for a classic tactical appearance.

The model utilizes a soft, dark bio-based resin band that wraps comfortably around the wrist. This strap features an interior tucking system to avoid catching on long gear sleeves.

High-contrast white hands and black hour markers stand out starkly against the light-transmissive background.

Outdoor enthusiasts who prefer a timeless, understated, and rugged style frequently select this black version. It transitions effortlessly from everyday office environments to remote mountain paths.

The specialized PRJ-01AE-7 and PRJ-01AE-8 models expand versatility with unique color palettes and multi-wear configurations.

Casio designs the PRJ-01AE-7 with a light gray bio-based resin case. This crisp tone mirrors pristine snow caps and brings a modern fashion sense to outdoor gear.

Conversely, the PRJ-01AE-8 features a deep, sophisticated dark gray colorway that evokes solid volcanic stone.

Both AE variants include a soft urethane strap alongside an innovative, tool-free carabiner attachment. Users can easily detach the resin band to install the rugged fabric pass-through loop.

This attachment allows adventurers to clip the timekeeper directly onto backpacks or climbing harnesses. Bright fluorescent accents on the dial and bezel highlight key functional elements beautifully.

These vibrant pops of color contrast sharply with the neutral gray and white body materials. The clever two-way wearing system offers incredible flexibility for dynamic outdoor environments.
