Seiko 5 Sports introduces a unique limited-edition HDB010 timepiece celebrating the 45th of the legendary Honda Motocompo motorcycle. The Honda Motocompo debuted in 1981 as an ultra-compact recreational folding scooter.

Honda engineered the lightweight bike specifically to fit inside small car trunks like the Honda City. This watch captures that playful retro spirit within the compact Seiko 5 Sports Field series platform.
Seiko will produce 8,000 numbered pieces worldwide for this special collaboration. The collaboration reflects a shared Japanese legacy of utility, innovation, and compact design.
Specification

Casio crafted the case from stainless steel with a durable black hard coating. The case diameter measures 36.4mm.
Its overall case thickness measures precisely 12.5mm, while the distance between the top and bottom lugs spans 44.4mm.
These compact dimensions offer exceptional comfort and versatility for everyday wear on any wrist. A protective curved Hardlex crystal covers the top to guard against unexpected scratches.

The watch provides reliable water resistance up to 100 meters depth. It also features magnetic resistance up to 4,800 A/m for daily reliability.
The dark matte finish on the case emphasizes its rugged military-inspired field watch layout.
Designers integrated clever motorcycle motifs into almost every visible section of the watch. The winding crown features the word TURN engraved right on its flat outer surface.

This detail directly mimics the functional design of an authentic motorcycle fuel cock knob. Turning the watch over reveals a see-through screw-down caseback for movement viewing.
The rear glass proudly displays a black silhouette of the compact Motocompo scooter. Each watch caseback displays the engraved words LIMITED EDITION alongside its unique serial number.

A rugged woven nylon strap holds the watch securely onto the wearer’s wrist. The lug width between the strap attachment points measures 18mm.
Designers drew inspiration from the mounting hardware used to strap the bike inside vehicle trunks. Part of the nylon strap bears the bold white text reading CARRYING POINT.

The tip section of the strap displays the printed words INSERTION POINT. Large block letters spelling out MOTOCOMPO run vertically along the durable fabric surface.
Dial
The striking dial immediately captures attention with its bright yellow background color. This distinctive yellow shade directly honors the most famous colorway of the original Motocompo scooter.

A bold black bar cuts horizontally across the central portion of the dial face. The famous white HONDA logo rests prominently along this black central bar.
Black Arabic numerals mark the hours clearly against the bright yellow dial surface. Seiko applied high-grade LumiBrite coating onto the hands and index markers.
The glowing LumiBrite guarantees maximum legibility even under pitch-black lighting conditions.
The word AUTOMATIC at 6 o’clock utilizes a custom retro font from the bike logo. A day and date calendar display sits conveniently at the 3 o’clock dial position.
Movement

The reliable in-house Seiko Caliber 4R36 automatic movement powers this limited-edition field watch. You can wind the internal mainspring automatically through wrist motion or manually via the crown.
The mechanical movement contains 24 jewels to reduce friction between moving parts. It operates at a steady frequency of 21,600 vph hour for consistent timekeeping.
The movement delivers a dependable power reserve of approximately 41 full operating hours. A stop second hand function allows exact time setting down to the precise second.

This timepiece successfully merges Japanese automotive history with iconic mechanical watchmaking expertise. Enthusiasts of vintage Honda motorbikes and Seiko field watches will treasure this rare creation.
It stands out as a vibrant tribute to 20th century mobility and creative Japanese design. Seiko delivers this timepiece in a collectible box styled like a vintage corrugated shipping carton.
Seiko 5 Sports x Honda Motocompo HDB010 is limited to 8,000 pieces and will be released in September 2026.
